The LMS School and Studios is based in East London in one of the most vibrant and popular areas, Hackney. Our professional studio, formely Opaz studios, is a hot spot for artists and musicians and the neighbourhood has many live music venues. Hackney is a location steeped in history and is one of the most culturally rich areas of London.

The London Music School itself is located on Mare Street in Hackney, next door to the famous Victorian Hackney Empire Theatre , home to many shows and televised events and an architecturally important building.

In the heart of fashionable East London, the School is just around the corner from Victoria Park (home of the Lovebox music festival), London Fields, The Regent’s Canal and Broadway Market (lots of bars and cafe’s) – the perfect location for the exploration of alternative and artistic London. Hackney is a notably creative area and is popular with musicians, poets and artists alike (you’ll see quite a few Banksy’s in the area).

Surrounded by some of the most interesting districts in the capital, such as Spitalfields Market (Jack The Ripper), Tower Bridge, Shoreditch (Boxpark, nightclubs) and Hoxton (late night music), and of course the City of London, the LMS is the most centrally located of all London’s music schools.
