Derek Baxter is Head of Education and Head of Bass at the London Music School. Derek was a founding member of the LMS and was instrumental in writing our curriculum and spearheading our modern style of education.

Derek first entered the world of music as a trombonist but was playing bass guitar professionally by the time he was nineteen. Derek was a teacher and Head of Department at the Musicians Institute London and currently teaches at the LMS, Kingston University and The Brit School.

Derek is an accomplished bass player and has toured the world with other internationally renowned musicians and bands, played in numerous West End shows and performed for the Royal family.
