London Music School Bass Guitar Courses
At the London Music School we run a variety of exciting and unique bass guitar courses aimed at bass players that want to improve their performance, technique, musicality and recording skills. Directed by experienced bass player and educator Derek Baxter, our bass guitar courses cover all fundamentals through to advanced techniques. Derek has many years of experience teaching and performing with performances including many West End theatres and touring shows all over the UK. Bass students will be encouraged to perform with other band members and singers in many scenarios and various styles of music in class as well as recording in our studio and playing at outside gig events. This will prepare the bass player to go out into the world with the right knowledge, confidence and skills to pursue a career in music.

The London Music School is a small school with a very high student-to-teacher ratio and a flexible and personalised attitude towards our students. All our courses are essentially hands-on and aims to combine a solid musical education with the freedom each of our students need to develop their own personal style and direction.We welcome all levels on our courses and have no formal requirements as we try and tailor the courses to the specific needs of the individual students. What matters to us is not the level of your ability coming in but rather that you come out of LMS as an improved musician. In addition to the taught classes at the school, students will get the opportunity to take part in a monthly gig at a public London venue furthering their live performance experience. You will also get the opportunity to work on your own projects in our in-house studio and build up a personal artist portfolio of professional studio recordings, photos and video footage.

Our One-Day Creative Musicianship Course is all about creative collaboration! It aims to provide the student with a variety of creative classes and an opportunity to build a portfolio of professional studio recordings, photos and video footage. The course is ideal for the student who wishes to develop their artistry and bass guitar performance skills.
Our Two-Day Creative Musicianship Course combines the best of both worlds! Combining our One-Day Bass Guitar Performance Foundation Course and our One-Day Creative Musicianship Course you will improve your bass guitar performance skills and explore your creativity through a variety of group classes in a friendly and fun atmosphere.
Our Three-Day Creative Musicianship Course has got it all! A combination of our bass guitar performance courses and creative musicianship courses which will ensure you get all the experience and practical skills you need to become an all-round better bass player and musician.
As an extension of our One-Day Bass Guitar Performance Foundation Course this course is designed for the student who is looking to gain more confidence as a performing bass player/musician. You will increase your repertoire and get to play and perform regularly with other likeminded students.
